What is ADHD?

ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Despite the name, people with this condition do not have a deficit of attention, but rather can find it difficult to purposefully direct their focus. While some think of this as an inability to focus, that is not true. In fact, the ability to hyper-focus is one of the many skills associated with ADHD. Hyperactivity presents differently people. For some, it maybe be a physical hyperactivity whereas others experience an internal sense of it. There are 7 different types of ADHD and many, many symptoms so it is impossible to paraphrase this condition accurately for all people. Skills most ADHDers have are strong 3D visual skills, problem solving abilities, passion and the ability to think outside the box.

No need to sit still

Many (but not all) ADHDers find that physical movement helps them think better and work at their best. It’s important to remember however, that no one neurodivergent individual is the same, and it’s always a good idea to ask people what they need.
